Yankee Sportsman Classic, Essex Junction – Outreach Event

The Lake Champlain Fish and Wildlife Resources Office (LCFWRO) represented the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service at the 2008 Yankee Sportsman Classic January 18-20. The Yankee Sportsman Classic is the largest fishing, hunting, and outdoor recreation exposition held in the State of Vermont. The 2008 show attracted thousands of visitors. The exposition consisted of displays from various outdoor product vendors, conservation organizations, and natural resources agencies. Visitors were invited to attend and participate in a host of educational seminars and informational presentations.
		The FWS display featured a Service exhibit with information about the Fisheries Program, the Partners for Fish and Wildlife Program, and the Lake Champlain Sea Lamprey Control Program. Highlights of the display included live sea lamprey, and a continuous slide presentation of activities associated with the LCFWRO. Staff from the LCFWRO were present for the entire weekend to answer questions and promote the Service's mission.
